I really don’t understand this either. In theory at least I could choose an LC250 without premium with java softex interior. I could even skip the sunroof! Or go premium & skip the 20” wheels. I rather like Everest as a color, I could choose that in an off road. Or Since I like brown...
Following. As I go the other way, changing C into F. This should be a trivial setting, & it is on my Fords, but I haven’t seen yet in Toyota from what I’ve read on threads, where you can do this.
Haha I wish! You’d think by the end of April it could be a little warmer than 35 or whatever it was yesterday when I took the crappy phone pics walking back out of the mall after my errands.
Finally found one in the wild! Our community mall yesterday. Must’ve been just about the first one off the truck & off the lot here. I initially approached it from the back & it took me a minute to realize it wasn’t just another 5th gen, which are super common here.
Far easier than you might think. Speaking from experience:
1. Lack of thought before getting to the test drive about your wants & needs. Or lack of understanding of what your true priorities are & what to focus on.
2. It’s entirely possible to take a test drive & not keep your ultimate...
Good luck giving it a shot! I understand buying the wrong vehicle. Sometimes though sticking it out gives you a chance to either let it grow on you, or make a more informed decision next time.
Ah dang. That is the major differentiating item with those two trims isn’t it.
Thanks for the tip, you’re right, the same happened with the Platinum (too bad we can’t get hybrid limited here…) I’d built. $77,627. I’m sure it was $79K before, though I wonder if I’d clicked an accessory or two...
So it does make a difference then to have Japanese manufacture, even within Toyota? I’d wondered if a Tundra wouldn’t be just as good, even though it was built in the US, because they’d follow the Toyota production model.
Oh weird! I just had to try it & yep, no Limited or Platinum. Of course they’re still on the .com site, but they have more choices than we’re allowed here anyways for whatever reason.
Thanks for posting! Seems we must be in an era now where car makers, at least some, are trying to get back into producing the model year in the year it’s named for. It seems like we’re halfway into the 25 model year already.
I tried those buttons on the auto show example but they didn’t do anything. I’d be surprised though if they still didn’t do anything if I had the vehicle key. Surely the buttons must do the window? Otherwise why put them there?
I clicked on a couple 5th gen on marketplace. I’m shocked at the resale value! Is this normal for Toyotas? I clicked on a limited first for $55K CAD. But everything 2020+ with 60-80K (say 40-60mi) is $50K+. I had to compare the first one I’d found, a 2022. It was ’only’ $57K new!
Now I...
This one was at the Calgary auto show this weekend. Dealer tells me they expect their first unit in towards the end of the month to the first week in April.
I hear you on the Everest. Nobody competes with Toyota in this segment. I’m too far north apparently though to answer the 4x2 vs 4x4 question as I didn’t even realize the 4R came in a 2WD version.

Huge discussion point over at the LC forum. If I recall right, the main takeaway was thought to be the LC as a global vehicle needed premium specification in markets where gas might not be as good as what we have here. So...
Seems like it would be worth hanging onto the dongle at least. If ever you wanted to make future changes, or revert to factory settings for a sale, you could always just pay another subscription for a month.
