If the bore is different I don’t think you have a choice. You have to use the rings. I sold my 24 Pro last year preparing for the 25’s. I know for sure that the bore is different.

Yes it can be removed taking out 4. I like to remove them all occasionally to put some anti-seize on them.

That is your best bet. I have a right angle drill with a short bit. It only takes a few minutes to remove the rear wheel if you don’t have a right angle.
