I don't know much about the new engine but Toyota is using various versions of it all over the place on both Lexus and Toyota vehicles so I'm guessing it's been well tested.

4Runner will continue to be built in Japan, for now. We'll see how sales of both Land Cruiser and 4R go to see if they will need to start building at different plants.
I haven't seen any indications there will be any sort of removable top, but I'm pretty sure the roll down rear window will stick around. There was some speculation the new Tundra was going to get rid of the rear roll down window, but there was too much customer demand for it. I think the same is...
Glad to hear the basic design will be very similar to 5G. I like the new Taco front end. Not sure how I feel about a more vertical C pillar, but easier access to the rear seat would be nice. I haul adults in the back seat quite a bit. I really wonder if the M/T will be available on 4R.
I'd like to see this updated after the Taco leak. Looks like the front end is quite a bit different. I would say more Sequoia than Tundra but the Taco headlights are quite a bit different than both. I like them. I hope the new 4R is closer to Taco than the big 2.
