It definitely is thin/chips easily (Heritage Blue, also that milky, opaque paint), particularly the front grille and the bottom sides where the factory strips of ppf are. We got ours ceramic coated pretty quickly to protect against the sun and contaminants, and I'd love a full ppf, but we spent...
Nearly all of them are now, with a few exceptions. They're supposedly all manufactured in one place and different "brands" slap their names on them. With that said...
We have a wedge-style Wildfinder and it's fantastic for two people. I'm an outdoor/travel journalist, and my husband (who's 6'4...
Seconding the low profile racks/RTT issue... my husband mounted mine last week on the WD rack, and it took him HOURS because he couldn't get to the brackets for mounting. He's a heavy equipment mechanic, so thankfully he's able to weld something to work, but definitely something to be aware of.
This is old, I know, but just installing our RTT now on a WD rack so I've been researching. Prinsu appears to be the ONLY company that states anything at all about increasing load capacity, and they never answer people's questions directly (multiple posts here and on Reddit). Really intrigued as...
We replaced ours with the wider Rough Country ones when we lifted it and added bigger tires... I'm almost positive a few companies offer replacements. I've also seen people recommend Chemical Guys VRP for sort of restoring it.
Beautiful ride! We have the same lift. It gets a lot of hate from some in the community, but I'll tell you what - it gets more compliments and questions than other setups lol. That extra inch from most lifts makes a difference!
Genuinely trying to be helpful and understand what you're looking for...it's somewhat contradictory to want sliders with steps but say you don't like where the step is lower than the bar. That's sort of just the way these are. I have RC nerf bars on mine, which is steps on rock sliders.
Another vote for MT Baja Boss, also adding Nitto Ridge Grapplers. My husband runs Baja Boss on his 3/4-ton F250 and we were thisclose to putting them on my 4runner. They throw rocks a bit and we live in the country with a lot of gravel roads, and we all know how delicate this damn paint is, so...
We're installing the camera this weekend and have the Westcott ladder mounted on the left (no issues with the backup alarm and the ladder). We're also installing a rear tire swing-out, so moving the camera to just under the rear spoiler. I did extensive research on this all, so I'll come back...
Agree on swapping to 17" or even 18" would be helpful. We live in the country (lots of dirt and gravel roads), have lifted vehicles and prefer AT tires. My husband runs MT Baja Boss on his F250 and I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Maybe too aggressive for what you're wanting, but wanted to share...
I was keeping tabs on this because we just lifted ours (my husband installed the lift), then had the tires and wheels mounted. So glad to hear there was a positive, fairly easy resolution. I was initially wondering if they maybe did not reuse the same sensors. Good call adding your...
How do you apply this and/or clean your tires? A brush or tool? I'm obsessive about mine and wheels/tires/lift go on this week so I came on looking specifically for this advice. Thank you!
My husband is a heavy equipment mechanic and has to work with wiring and things all the time (though not as delicate as my personal vehicle!), so it's all him. But I have this saved and will probably be back with some questions!
