OP here. To close the loop on this, carvana claims that someone is purchasing the vehicle I sold them. Sale price $58,590. So they made about $1,100 on the transaction after storing the vehicle for a month.
Now why someone would buy a used trd off road hybrid from carvana for 4k over msrp...
You can insist on anything you want. Whether you will get what you want depends. If you think you can find a better deal elsewhere and are willing to put in the legwork walk away. If not, then buy it.
Interesting. As I said in my original post I personally would never buy a dodge, but i dont think the durango is a "crappy vehicle in every way". The powertrain is better than the 4runner. Smoother engine and smoother transmission. The materials in the cabin are nicer than my my trd off road...
Observations from my dodge durango rental this week.
-Looks like a mini van
-Way more space than 4runner. Fold flat seats. It's a large vehicle.
-No driving assist standard. This is bad in 2026.
-The 3.6 v6 and 8 speed are great. Absolutely better feeling than my 4runner, probably not more...
Yep. Thats the noise. It is bad :( The theory is have seen is the high pressure fuel.pump but who knows. I wonder if every 4runner makes this noise and some people dont hear/notice it. It really bugs me.
Great write up. Thanks!
Full time 4wd is better, they didnt give it to you to control costs and separate the different vehicle classes. The land cruiser and 4runner are very similar vehicles, they have to have some differences between them.
One correction, unless your friend did some...
There is a big thread about what people are actually paying in the forum if you search. Many are getting discounts and it varies by region. 45,500 seems OK for an sr5. I found a couple sr5 for 43k when i was looking in the Midwest and bought my trd offroad for 49+ttl.
All good points. But one thing, it is not 5-8k from sr5 to orp. When shopping I found sr5 for 43k and the cheapest orp i found was 56k. Thats $13,000. But I agree everyone should get what they like and can comfortably afford! I bought an Off-Road road because for me it was worth 6k over the sr5.
I thought about SR5 when I got my off road. Sr5 really is the best value. But I really like the everest color and wanted heated seats. I also am also happy with the tires and wheels on my off road and didnt like sr5 wheels/ tires, so all together for me it was (barely) worth the 5k-6k upcharge...
At 1500 miles i average 21.2 mpg on the dash. I stopped hand calculating because the dash was spot on. My trd off road is stock with airdam and my driving is 50/50 city highway. Im happy with that compared to the 12-14 mpg my 99 landcruiser got. I know it has been beat to death but why do we...
I found some orp with no moonroof when I was looking recently. I found that vindowsticker.com is the easiest way to quickly click on vehicles and see if it has the MR(moonroof) package.
I weighed it and got the non-premium. It has heated seats and steering wheel. I do like leather but the cloth seats are quality. I dont care about a moonroof so I would be payin 6k for some cameras, a bigger screen, a hatch i dislike and a sound system people arent impressed with. I would rather...
Lol I dont understand why people are shting on the idea of a cd player. CDs are great. People own them and they are easy to use. Taking your eyes off the road? That is a stretch compared to all the spotify/ touchscreen searching people do already. Listening to CDs the op already owns is...
Which video? The video linked in this thread he says axles. The only install video i see is a tacoma lift kit. The tacoma one is lower knuckle attachments, tie rods, shocks and springs and upper control arms.
Someone just posted a video of one today. Another post on here identified part numbers last week. PTCCY-89310 is for gas models - MSRP $2999 (On sale online for $2700 before any coupons)
PTCCY-89320 is for hybrid models - MSRP $2999
I have seen it online for $2600 with an additional 10 percent...
