it's also possible that your new rear springs are stiffer than stock if you installed https://toyteclifts.com/rcc2-0-p-toytec-superflex-rear-coils-fj-03-4runner-03-gx?find=2025-4runner-1625

If I had to guess I'd say the firmer ride may have been...
could it be possible that the front springs have too much preload? The preload collar looks like its set pretty high up for the 2.75in of front lift. Could try moving it down a bit, i think a little bit of rake is good
This is a strange observation. The factory red bilsteins had terrible ride quality so I swapped the rears for Fox 2.5. Ride quality is alot better now, but the front is still a bit harsh since it's on the factory bilsteins.
I guess Fox 2.0 is the safer choice? Seems counterintuitive that Fox...
how is the highway mileage with the rooftop tent? im considering one but dont want to reduce range too badly, especially with the smaller 19 gallon gas tank
fantastic writeup by the way
Hi, has anyone had any luck disabling PKSB AND its warning message which shows up every time you start the car?
- Just disabling it is not sufficient because it causes an annoying warning message to appear in the center of the screen, which you have to clear
- Leaving it on is not an option as...
I've heard great things about the OME MT64: https://4runner6g.com/threads/ome-mt64-suspension-6th-gen-4runner-first-impressions.1130/
Maybe you could give those fronts a try and report back, I'm starting to think we should have splurged for the mt64 all around
The rear coil springs on the...
Interesting results. Wondering why it has 15 less hp than the tacoma. Is this a gas or hybrid model? Hard to believe it can do 350 wheel torque when it's rated for 317 or something.
Have you also dyno'd a 5th gen 4runner/3rd gen tacoma? What do those numbers look like?
Very strange. keep us updated.
The OME MT64 may actually be a better choice for improving ride quality, reviewers mention how soft they are.
So far the budget options I know of are:
1. Fox 2.0: https://www.alldogsoffroad.com/fox-20-performance-series-shocks-for-6th-gen-toyota-4runner-lc250
-...
yes, this is correct. Chad from @alldogsoffroad was very responsive to my emails and offered to adjust the front 2.0's to match stock height, so getting the 2.0 set of 4 from alldogs is definitely the most economical way to 100% solve the ride quality.
I bought the rear 2.5's because the...

the 2.0 performance shocks also work, but the reason why i got the 2.5 is because if i ever wanted to change the fronts aswell the 2.5 fronts are closer to stock ride height (they...
I'm honestly so shocked (pun not intended) by all this that I'm willing to donate my OEM rear TRD Offroad bilsteins to whoever has a shock dyno to quantify and de-mystify this issue (provided they pay for all shipping costs, and actually do some testing).
As others have said, the difference is...
Judging by the article here: https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2025-toyota-4runner-trd-pro-suspension-long-term-update.html probably not.
I just installed the Fox 2.5 rear shocks today and it did make a big difference. The jitteriness and harshness over broken pavement from the rear is...
I definitely wouldn't do it. Tiny 17.9 gallon gas tank + poor highway aerodynamics = fail
I'd keep the 4R and put some Fox shocks on it, they fix the ride quality
If you really want a new car, have you considered the ineos grenadier? It comes in an awesome light blue color, saw one today and...
That makes sense. Did you have to support the rear axle when changing the shock or just let it full droop? Did the car's handling dynamics change at all?
