I just used the OEM ones--I got the aluminum TRD front plate and the other 2. Give your dealer your VIN so make sure you select the correct ones--one of the ones on mine showed 2 versions that looked identical (at least from the picture on the Toyota parts site) but were different numbers. I...
I would think having the front of the seat a bit lower would be helpful so it does not cut off circulation to the lower leg because of the pressure on the back of the thigh. That said, you might also try a pad such as the ones made by Purple (the mattress company)...
I cannot comment on very cold temperatures (I am in Southern CA) but I have noticed the electric provides much more boost when the engine is cold. The engine heats up *very* quickly (within a couple minutes) then the electric backs off. It still engages when I push it, or of course when the gas...
@Archer I did get one of those "chain saws" you linked to and tested it a bit ago on about a 4" branch. My test subject was loose, so made it harder, but you are right--it actually works quite well! And it is *very* compact. Thanks again!
I just aim mine out the door, the vast majority of the dirt just goes outside. Yes, a vacuum will not blow dirt anywhere, and is better in that regard--but is not as good at getting into crevices and takes much longer.
Mine lost its 2 outer screws once, but I am sure that was my fault as I had removed it for off-roading then reinstalled it. I found some compatible equivalents in my hardware bins and tightened them better this time, and after thousands of miles it is still tight. As I also mentioned earlier as...
I find it odd that features that do not seem like they should be specific to an area (US, Canada for example) would be different. Seems like it would be easier for Toyota to have the same options everywhere unless local law requires otherwise. I would not expect any of the features being...
I have the older model (non-removeable battery), and I agree--it is very good. They were both top pick on ProjectFarm (YouTube channel that does good product reviews).
For a small blower this @Wolfbox one is really good:

There is also the older version with the non-removeable battery (which is the one I have) which is...
I just got the factory bars (I wanted them, but they also happen to come with the vehicle). I did not personally hear any significant wind noise, but I know there are others here that said they have. They are well-made and strong, and appear to have a decent aerodynamic profile. Of course they...
Fair enough, I have heard those arguments. But, what that does not answer (I don't think it does anyway) is does it matter that those contaminants are there?
I still fail to understand why a very early oil change would be important. I know, the theory is that during the engine break-in period there is more particles worn from the engine which end up in the oil--a reasonable assumption. But what I do not follow is that everyone seems to ignore that...
Personally I think changing oil that early is overkill. Whether 10K is too long is hotly debated (see this forum, there are posts on this). Many say they are changing oil at least every 5000 miles, some more often. Many do at least one change at either 1000 or 5000 (or somewhere in between)...
I have the older version of this (non-replaceable battery, I think a few other minor changes) and it is really good. It really blows that is :-). ProjectFarm on Youtube tested a bunch of these (different brands) and the Wolfbox came out on top both times (old and new version).
Hi @Joe Dirt, I have not used it with the 4Runner yet but will try it when I think of it. I have just been using the app from the manufacturer from the device, seems to work OK. I have not really used it for a lot of things, mostly to check codes and basic monitoring.
I had never known about that hand chain saw...interesting! I would think it would be a royal pita to use...take a long time, lots of hard work. But it seems to get good reviews. @Archer, have you actually used these? If so, can you comment on their use?
I have the Milwaukee M12 (12V) Hatchet...
Someone commented on this somewhere else on this forum. They stated along the same lines--you can choose when to maintain the exact speed or not, so you can let it dip a little uphill but gain a bit more over your desired speed downhill. I am not sure how much of that makes a difference--or how...
My ORP did ot come with it, as others have said I think it is optional on that trim at least. I would never pay the ridiculous price they want for theirs--I can get <$10 flashlights that are probably better. I have not thought of something to put in that space though (I always have a tiny...
Thinner metal and more plastic == lower weight. The "skin" is not a significant part of the safety of the vehicle. I do see the hood flex (bounce up and down) a bit as I drive on occasion, but it does not bother me. I know folks have shown dents with pretty minor force, so that is not great. I...
