Toyota definitely prioritized tire clearance with the TNGA-F platform vehicles. The Tacoma, LC and 4Runner all can stuff 35" tires easily. I've even seen 37's fit with no / minimal lift on the new Tacomas.
You won't be disapppointed with SofTex. It doesn't collect much pet hair and is highly resistant against scratches from dog nails.
